Alro, a manufacturer of machined and assembled parts for the aerospace industry, was founded in 1960 in Lindenhurst, Long Island, NY as a screw machine shop. We have evolved and grown to become a supplier of parts and services for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft manufacturers. For example, landing gear parts are a specialty of ours. We also provide machining to support maintenance and repair of components and assemblies. Today the shop machines hardened steel, tungsten, and titanium for a wide assortment of aerospace parts. Making a go of machining hard metals as a specialty was not a decision taken lightly at Alro. This specialization has dictated the choice of every major factor in the machining process. We specialize in the machining and assembly of close-tolerance aerospace components, along with the overhaul and repair of prime subassemblies of transmissions, rotors, and landing gear.
